1. Introduction
Stellr (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) and other applicable privacy laws. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, who we may share it with, how long we keep it, how we protect it, and what rights you have in relation to your personal information. This Policy applies when you visit our website, communicate with us, submit an enquiry, use our services, or otherwise provide personal information to us.
2. Responsible Party
Stellr is the Responsible Party under POPIA because it determines the purpose of and means for processing personal information collected through our website, communications, services and business operations. Where we use third-party service providers to process personal information on our behalf, those providers act as operators and are required to process personal information only in accordance with our instructions and applicable legal requirements.

Where applicable, we may collect information about companies or other juristic persons, as POPIA also protects certain information relating to identifiable juristic persons.

5. Purpose of Processing

8. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, for any related lawful purpose, or as required or permitted by applicable law. Retention periods may differ depending on the type of information, the nature of our relationship with you, contractual requirements, legal obligations, dispute resolution needs, audit requirements and legitimate business purposes. When personal information is no longer required, we will securely delete, destroy or de-identify it so that it can no longer reasonably identify you.
9. Security Measures
We implement appropriate technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, misuse, alteration, disclosure or destruction. You have rights in relation to your personal information under POPIA. These may include the right to request confirmation of whether we hold personal information about you, request access to that information, request correction or deletion of inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, outdated, incomplete, misleading or unlawfully obtained information, object to processing in certain circumstances, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and submit a complaint to the Information Regulator. We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request and may refuse or limit a request where permitted by law.
11. Special Personal Information and Children’s Information
We do not collect or process special personal information, such as information relating to health, biometric information, criminal behaviour, religious or philosophical beliefs, political persuasion, race or ethnic origin unless authorised by law or with appropriate consent. We also do not collect personal information relating to children unless we have the consent of a competent person or another lawful basis applies. If we become aware that such information has been provided to us without the necessary authority, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it where appropriate.
12. Data Breach Notification
If we have reasonable grounds to believe that personal information has been accessed or acquired by an unauthorised person, we will take steps required by POPIA, including notifying the Information Regulator and affected data subjects as soon as reasonably possible, unless notification is delayed in accordance with the law. The notification may include information about the possible consequences of the compromise, measures taken or proposed to address it, recommended steps that affected persons can take to reduce risk, and, where known, the identity of the unauthorised person who may have accessed or acquired the information.
13. Third-Party Websites
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, platforms, plug-ins or services that are not operated or controlled by Stellr. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, content or terms of those third parties. If you access a third-party website or service, you should review its privacy policy and terms before providing any personal information.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, business operations, legal requirements, technology or privacy practices. 16. Information Officer
Stellr has appointed an Information Officer in accordance with POPIA. The Information Officer is responsible for encouraging compliance with POPIA, handling requests from data subjects, liaising with the Information Regulator, overseeing data protection practices and managing privacy-related complaints. Requests relating to access, correction, deletion, objections to processing, withdrawal of consent, data breaches or any privacy concerns may be directed to the Information Officer at contact@stellr-net.com.
